Pakistan scores continuously low on our Educational Equality indicator, bordering "extreme" – where the provision of high quality education is extremely unequal and at least three quarters of children receive such low-quality education that undermines their ability to exercise their basic rights as adult citizens.
Yousafzai shares the prize with another children’s rights’ activist, Kailash Satyarthi, from India, which scores somewhat above Pakistan on the Educational Equality indicator, slowly advancing upward since 1947 (when Pakistan was founded beside a newly independent India) while still maintaining a common area of interest for both nations.
