Samson Yuen is an Associate Professor of political science in the Department of Government and International Studies at Hong Kong Baptist University. He studies contentious politics, civil conflicts, public opinion and civil society, focusing on East Asia (primarily the Greater China region). His research has been published in the Journal of Conflict Resolution, Political Studies, Political Psychology, Geopolitics, Mobilization, Social Movement Studies, Sociological Methodology, China Quarterly, Journal of Contemporary China, Modern China, and Journal of Contemporary Asia. He has been a visiting fellow at the Australia Centre on China in the World, Australian National University. He holds a DPhil in Politics from Oxford University and a BA in Economics from the University of Chicago.
