Yuko Sato

Yuko Sato was a postdoctoral fellow at the V-Dem Institute. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of International Relations at Koç University in Istanbul, Türkiye. She is also a Research Affiliate at the CEU Democracy Institute's Research Group on De- and Re-Democratization and Waseda Institute for Advanced Study (WIAS) at Waseda University.

Her research focuses on popular protests, voting behavior, and democratization or autocratization, with a regional focus on Latin America. Her previous research has been published in political science journals, including European Journal of Political Research, Political Research Quarterly, Electoral Studies, Policy Studies Journal, and Democratization.
