Abrak Saati

Abrak Saati is Associate Professor of Political Science at Umeå University and a specialist in democracy and governance in microstates. Her research focuses on democracy and democratization, constitutionalism, and the ways in which small population size and islandness shape political institutions and democratic practices.

Drawing on comparative research across Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, and the Pacific, her recent work examines political and democratic developments in Cabo Verde, São Tomé and Príncipe, Vanuatu, Kiribati, Malta, and Saint Lucia.
