What are the dividends of democratic governance? On Nov. 30th and Dec. 1st, 2021, the Case for Democracy Conference, organized by the V-Dem Institute with support from the European Union, will provide answers to this question. 

The Case for Democracy Conference brings together leading scholars from various fields of expertise to share the latest, cutting-edge scientific knowledge on dividends of democracy with policymakers and practitioners, on a series of policy-relevant outcomes:

  • Human Development and Global Health (SDG #2, 3, 6)
  • Education and Empowering Women and Girls (SDG #4, 5)
  • Sustainable Environment and Climate Change Mitigation (SDG #13, 14, 15)
  • Peace and Human Security (SDG #16)
  • Public goods and Corruption (SDG #16)

Call for Country Experts
The Varieties of Democracy Institute (V-Dem) is looking for new Country Experts to contribute to our data update in January 2022 for these 10 countries: 

Angola, Burma/Myanmar, Gambia, Guyana, Liberia, Mauritania, Mauritius, Suriname, Tanzania, Vanuatu
