The Varieties of Indoctrination (V-Indoc) dataset is a new global dataset on the politicisation of education and the media, which draws on the information provided by 760 country experts (surveyed in collaboration with the V-Dem Institute) and offers unrivaled coverage of 160 countries from 1945-2021. The dataset presents a wide array of unique and detailed indices and indicators on the politics of practices of indoctrination in education and the media.

You will hear from the DEMED team about the concept ideas behind the data, how the data were collected, the construction of the indices, and how the data can be accessed. The team will also demonstrate key findings from the data and the state of indoctrination around the world, and you will have the chance to ask questions about the data and how to use it.
